Do you yearn for the indescribable awareness of God’s presence in your life? The kind where your faith ignites, and you want to shout it from the mountaintops because you want everyone to experience what you have. Don’t you think many times these feelings are most impressive when darkness surrounds us? Sometimes it takes a trial to realize without a doubt; that we are not alone in the dark.
God Is with Us

But of course, we don’t want to have to walk through trials all of the time to convince us we are not alone. The Bible is full of stories of God being with His people, and Jesus promises us we will never be alone.
Never Alone in the Dark
However, sometimes, it is great to read a current-day story of our Lord standing by someone in their darkness. Our featured post this week from Diane Ferreira is one you won’t want to miss. She eloquently shares her experience of a recent stroke and how there was no doubt she was not alone in the dark.
Her personal story was not only amazing; it helped to remind me of the times I, too, stood in the dark and yet could see better than ever. It left me jumping for joy with gratitude and reigniting my own faith and trust in God.

I don’t always like this truth, but I know it to be so: “Sometimes it takes a trial to realize without a doubt; we are not alone in the dark.” I’m easily startled in the dark, so it’s even more important to me to remember that we are never alone in the dark.

Thanks for sharing Diane’s story. I think all of us have a secret fear or dread – a stroke is one of mine. But Diane’s story shows that if God allows it, He’ll carry us through.
