Are you in the middle of a life delay? Have you grown impatient wanting your timing instead of God’s? Would you believe I am sitting on an airplane with a delayed flight as I begin typing out these words?

Coincidence, I think not. Today our featured post is “Flight Delay Life Delay.” When we loaded the plane, there was a  bit of ruckus from a passenger, but it seemed to be under control. Yet we continued to sit. Within minutes the passenger was escorted off while mumbling a few things under her breath.

Now I love flying and sometimes even appreciate the delays (more time to get things done.) But when it comes to life delays, I sometimes get impatient.

However, Jennifer’s words brought a fresh outlook and a reminder to commit my day to the Lord.

“Just as delays may be necessary for safe travel, life delays may be necessary for the timing, circumstances, attitudes or others to align for the journey to be fruitful…” Jennifer

As we neared our landing place, the turbulence increased and we began to circle the airport. Guess what? I ended up in an entirely different state from my intended destination. Evidently, we didn’t have enough fuel to continue to wait out the storm.

However, with a BIG thank you to Jennifer for her fantastic post fresh on my mind –  the timing couldn’t have been better. I figured there was a reason for every delay. So with a committed day to the Lord, I settled in and began to ponder the delays with a fresh new outlook.  Plus, I loved the extra moments to listen to music and spend some time with God.

  1. Hi Maree,
I feel very honored to be featured here on your post with Grace & Truth! Thank you!

I always love God’s Word in season when we are on these delays & waiting times… so glad God used my experience to bless you!

    1. Jennifer – Yes, your words were a great comfort and blessing to me. I know they will be for many others. Maree

  2. Waiting on the Lord is what we are supposed to do, but that seems easier said than done sometimes. On the other hand, I want to walk obediently and in His will. So the choice is mine and I pray I make the one He wants of me more often than not. Glad I came by today.

    1. I am so glad you stopped by too. Yes, waiting can be difficult. Thank goodness we have a patient God. Hope you have an amazing weekend. Maree
