Freedom Will Never Be Free

Do you find it hard each year to know what to say when Veteran’s Day rolls around? My eyes well up with tears, and my heart overflows with gratitude for our freedom, yet I begin to fumble with my words. A mere “Thank you for your service” seems so inadequate.”

After all, the cost was tremendous, and freedom will never be free.

What do you say or do to honor our Veterans and their families?

  1. I loved reading Linda’s beautiful post. I’m very grateful for all the men and women who have served, and for those who have stayed behind to keep the home fires burning for their return.

    1. Lisa, Yes, me too. I am so grateful for the men and women who serve our great nation whether they are home or abroad. Maree

  2. I recently heard a veteran say that they prefer “Never forget” to “Thank you for your service.” I don’t know if that’s really universal for vets but thought it was interesting. laurensparks.net

    1. Thank you for adding that, it is helpful. I imagine everybody is different which make it a little more complicated as to what to say. I am hoping we hear some more ideas in the comments. Maree
