Do you love the overlooked? Sometimes I don't. Many times my schedule is overloaded, and I have left no margin to allow for a little kindness.

Do you love the overlooked? I am embarrassed to say, “Sometimes I don’t.” Many times my schedule is overloaded, and I have left no margin to allow for a little kindness. Other times I don’t permit my compassion to leak out because it is too darn uncomfortable.

I let the thoughts of, “What will they think?” “Do they want my help?” “Who am I to think I can make a difference?” Do you do this too?

However, time after time when I respond to that little voice inside saying, “Do something!” I find myself entirely blessed by stepping out of my comfort zone.

Yesterday, I read a sweet story which reminded me to keep my eyes open and notice those around me. I chose it as our featured story today. After all, shouldn’t we want to strive to see others in need and to love them as Jesus would?

God notices us in our time of need.

Please welcome Elizabeth Spencer as we feature her post today. She writes over at Guilty Chocoholic Mama.

Elizabeth shares a beautiful example of what kindness and compassion can look like in real time. The lesson came from her young daughter who not only was on the lookout for those she could help but was willing to step in even if it was uncomfortable.

“And you showed me what kindness looks like when it’s given a voice and hands and feet—and, sometimes, a Band-Aid.” Elizabeth Spencer
