Do you struggle to let go of control and let the Lord reign? Find out one fantastic benefit to placing your trust in God.

Are you missing out? Do you struggle to let go of control and let the Lord reign? Not relinquishing might be a mistake; after all, the perks are numerous and varied. However, there is one, in particular, that stands out as downright phenomenal. Find out one fantastic benefit to placing your trust in God.

The first time I experienced this gain, I thought for sure something had to be wrong with me. I stood there in dismay at myself as I heard the machines beeping, the rush of nurses hustling, and the constant vibration of my phone vibrating as another inquiry from friends came in by way of text.

Yet, I wasn’t afraid as I sat there in the ICU, waiting for a loved one to wake up. There was a sense of calm that washed over me. The peace made absolutely no sense.

His Peace Becomes Ours

Do you struggle to let go of control and let the Lord reign? Find out one fantastic benefit to placing your trust in God.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

John 14:27 NASB

Have you ever experienced this kind of peace? Would you say the feeling is remarkable, and quite honestly, sometimes a little puzzling?

Everybody is unique, but when the unexpected hits and the circumstances are way beyond my strength and control, I usually trust the Lord more readily. How about you?

However, in my everyday life, harmony is sometimes missing. The small silly things like a missing phone, keys, or my work vanished from the computer are what tend to take me down. A close examination and almost always hidden underneath is my failure to relinquish control to God.

Years ago, I created a prayer acronym to help remind me to trust God daily. Scroll to the bottom if you would like to download a gift that includes this method of prayer. It is easy to remember when you’re out and about and need a little peace.

  1. When jesus told the disciples to have peace he was less than 24hrs away from being crucified. He anticipated his death while preparing the disciples. They could have peace in the worst circumstances because he’d still be with them as the Comforter – the Holy Spirit.
My book talks about this night in the Lord’s ministry – https://www.amazon.com/Comfort-Night-Jesus-Makes-Times-ebook/dp/B08P59Q8L3/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=nylse+esahc&qid=1617123192&sr=8-1

    1. Nylse,

Thank you for sharing your book. It sounds amazing. I am adding it to my list of books I want to read. Is it on Audible? Blessings, Maree

  2. Maree, God’s peace is amazing. When I recently went through a health scare, prayers of friends and choosing to trust God no matter the outcome made a huge difference in my heart and my thoughts walking through it.

    1. Jeanne,
Thank you for sharing how putting your trust in God made all the difference. Since you said, scare, I’m hoping that means it all resolved with a good outcome. Oh, yes, where would we be without our friends who pray. Maree

  3. I totally agree, Maree. For this former worry wort, God’s peace has definitely been a wonderful benefit of trusting Him. Thanks for sharing my post, my friend. 🙂

    1. His peace never ceases to amaze me. I always stand in awe that it is possible. Praying you feel God’s peace this weekend. However, I am not wishing any suffering just His peace. Maree

  4. I was blessed by Lois’s post, too. I’ve experienced what you mentioned–sometimes it’s harder to maintain peace in the little everyday issues and irritations. We need His grace and help and guidance for everything.

    1. Barbara,

I am so glad I’m not alone in the little everyday irritations. You are so right. We need Him in everything. Blessings, Maree
