When you hear life stories from faith-filled people who have persevered through difficult circumstances, does it strengthen your faith? When you hear life stories from faith-filled people who have persevered through difficult circumstances, does it strengthen your faith? Does it infuse hope to carry on in your own life? Or maybe even give you the courage do what is hard?

God does ask us to do things which are challenging and sometimes we don’t want to do it. Maybe we feel ill-equipped, too tired, fed up with the struggle or don’t have enough time.

God, Please Find Someone Else

Sometimes everything in us says, “God, I don’t want to do what you have asked, please find someone else.”

Well, over the last week this is where you would find me. I have been digging in trying to reason with God about why a particular task shouldn’t be mine.

The Stories Keep Coming

Well in the meantime, everywhere I seem to turn someone shares a success story of similar circumstances. These stories have been coming in the most random places which brings a smile to my face as it chips away at my unwillingness.

First, the tears well up as I hear of incredible courage. But then God whispers in my ear, “I will do the same for you.” “You will not be alone.” “Maree, you can do difficult things with me at your side; you have done them before with my strength.” “This is nothing new.”

Strengthen Your Faith

Sharing your faith-filled journey will empower others. Plus it will strengthen your faith as you remember all God has done for you.

  1. God, please use someone else: that’s been my prayer on more than one occasion. 😉 And sometimes he says okay. But other times he wants me to grow my faith and I end up doing it anyway. I loved Sue’s post. Thanks for sharing her here.

    1. Lisa, Glad to know I am not alone. I did one of my hard things yesterday, and it went well. God is so good! Maree

  2. God is always faithful. A specific way this week is the peace He gave in a situation where He enabled me to hold my tongue and avoid an argument. This time I remembered to pray and God was so faithful. Blessings to you, Maree!

    1. Gayl, Thank you for sharing your experience this week. I am so glad you remembered to pray, and God was faithful. Amen!

  3. When we have been through difficult situations Maree we get traumatized at the cellular level which has a body/flesh memory in our subconscious.

Then when God asks us to do something which may push that traumatized flesh button we are reluctant to go there, but God knows this & will never call us to do something that He does not give us the strength & grace for…He is the perfect gentleman.

Our flesh just needs to be convinced. I have a strategy when this happens I just plow ahead & do it..not giving my flesh time to think or dwell upon it 😉 & before I realize God’s strength & peace have accomplished it! 😀
    Bless you,
    Jennifer
