Do you take time for the people who matter most? It doesn’t have to be an extravagant vacation or some BIG splashy event.

Do you take time for the people who matter most? Quality time is my love language, so when given the opportunity to spend time with someone I care about, I jump at the chance. Sometimes, it even takes me out of my comfort zone.

This week I am traveling in China, where my youngest son is now living. Even though it never was on my bucket list, I know it will be an experience of a lifetime. After all, as our children get older, the natural opportunities to spend time together seem to diminish.

Plus, who wouldn’t jump at the chance of an adult child choosing time with Mom and Dad?

Of course, taking time for the people who matter most doesn’t have to be an extravagant vacation or some BIG splashy event - a walk, short visit or a phone call will suffice. How do you like to spend time with those you love? Click To Tweet

A Short Break

In an attempt to fully take in the time together, I will be taking a short break from featuring posts and commenting.

The link-up will still be here each week – so don’t go anywhere! Our featured post on “Embracing the Unexpected” will return on November 8th. In the meantime, please visit the other hosts and see what fascinating articles they have picked to feature.

    1. Angela, Thank you! We are having a great time and have a bonus his girlfriend joined us too. Maree

  1. so wonderful! I totally get it. Not so far as China, but we head to LA to a USC football game today to spend time w/ our youngest, a grad student there. About 4 hours – there and back in a day. What we do…plus I’m bringing brownies.

    1. What a sweet Momma you are. I don’t know why but I thought you lived in Long Beach. Yes, 4 hours sounds more doable. Maree

  2. Maree,
One of my love languages is “spending time with” as well. As my children have become adults, I find it is harder to find time to connect with them as they have busy lives and mom and dad just aren’t at the top of the priority ladder lol. How wonderful that your son WANTS you to visit and what a terrific mom to travel halfway around the globe to be with him….Enjoy!
    Blessings,
    Bev xx

    1. Bev, Ahh, we share the same love language. It does get complicated with busy schedules when they become adults. I am so thankful we wants to spend time with us. Plus, what a help he has been as we travel all around. He has it down. Maree

  3. What a neat opportunity! My husband went to China on business several years ago and really enjoyed it. Of course, traveling to see family is even more special. Hope you have a wonderful time!
